Barcelona Chair and Footstool
The Mies Van der Rohe Barcelona Chair and Footstool, designed for The German Pavilion, was that country’s entry for the International Expo in Barcelona in 1929. It was designed in case Spanish royalty wished to sit during their tour of the Expo (they didn’t) This iconic chair design resulted from a collaboration between famous modernist architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and the architect and designer Lilly Reich. An icon of modernism, the design of the Barcelona chair was inspired by folding chairs of ancient times.
Our high quality reproduction has a polished stainless steel frame with Italian leather covered cushions. Some minor assembly required.
