COLMAN DOMINGO’S MCM RANCH HOUSE IS EUPHORIC: GET THE LOOK

Colman Domingo is so hot right now. From Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom to Euphoria with Zola and Candyman in between. If he ain’t in it you don’t wanna bother watchin’ it! And when he’s not out filming he’s busy lecturing at the University of Southern California. That’s one class I’d like to sign up for! So one wonders when he has the time to chill out in his fabulous home which manages to harness all the wonders of space age mid century modern.

Don’t Palm Me Off

The wallpaper is the classic Martinique design used at the Beverley Hills hotel. it’s unusual to see an art print hanging on such a huge graphic print but it works! As do the real palms in front of it. One thing is for sure, Colman is not afraid to throw all the things he loves into a space. Less is definitely not more. And for me this is what makes it so special. I am sure every piece has a story and I would love to hear them all.

Beam Me Up Scotty

If you watch the video you will see that there is not one, not two but three dining areas in this house! And that ‘s not even counting the garden!

The classic Eero Saarinen Tulip Chairs and table are a must have for any Star Trek fans out there. Love the convex mirrors – they would take a bit of sourcing! The floor lamp really gives it an edge and the side table brings it all together.

Let’s Lounge

I just love the huge stone fireplace wall and the sloping wood cladded ceiling. It doesn’t came any more mid century modern ranch style than this! Finish it off with your own bar and it’s the party pad to end all party pads. Or just lounge around on your Togo sofa. So where’s my invite, Colman?

In The Pink

What a great use for a closet. How lovely it must be to hide away in here with a book. Womb like.

Time For Bed

It seems to me that the bedroom is surprisingly understated compared to the rest of the house. The very practical directional lamps suggest that the books strewn all over the house do not go unread. Some serious reading action takes place in here!

SoCal Is The Place To Be

And last but definitely not least is the garden. It’s a beauty! And of course they have the weather for it! We can’t promise you 300 days of sunshine but we have found some nice garden furniture to get the SoCal vibe.
